2005 NFL Free Agent Hot List
Here's my hot list of players who should be targeted by clubs in free agency to improve their teams for the 2005 season.  This is subjective and some teams should not use this order, but it's a good starting point.  This list will change as players are signed and released but should always have the best available at the positions in my opinion.
QB Vinny Testaverde - The fact that he is listed here at something like 123 years old should tell you where we now stand at the quarterback position.... They are all gone.
RB Anthony Thomas - Though Thomas showed flashes when he was a starter in Chicago, his limited ability as a straight-ahead power runner makes him less attractive as a feature back.
WR Troy Brown - If he was 5 years younger this would be the no brainer number one guy to go after.  Age and speed work against him.  Versatility and attitude on the plus side.  Will make someone a great #3 and punt returner
TE Freddie Jones - For some reason everyone seems to love this guy, but he has found the end zone a mere six times in the past three seasons combined.
OL Victor Riley - He has the lower body strength to beat average defenders off the snap, and the reach to keep back pass rushers. Pro Bowl quality player

Rich Braham - Aging center who spent most of 2004 on IR.  Prior to injury was a fixture for years.  Can he come back?

DL None worth mentioning. Maybe after June 1st
LB Jamie Sharper - Cap casualty is a little older but can still play at the highest level.
DB Andre Dyson - With his burst and ball skills, he has developed into one of the league's steadiest cover corners.  Not a superstar, but doesn't cost like one either.  Plus he is still very young and can help a team for several years.

Ty Law - If it wasn't for his injury he would have been snapped up long ago... we will have to see how he heals up to see where he lands
