The Dems Have Become Republicans

Who would have imagined that the party of free speech, that would defend the rights of the KKK to march would suddenly be up in arms about some stupid throw away comment from Imus. Clearly this must be a Hillary behind the scenes move as Imus, with a miniscule audience, had a negative effect on her campaign for President. The Democrats have lost their soul as they move to silence those they do not agree with. Just as the Republicans should not have nation built in Iraq, the Dems should not be afraid of dissenting views. And yet it warmed the heart to see the ref who tossed Tim Duncan for no reason to suffer, suspended. Politics could learn from sports when to stick their nose into a problem. Imus or a fan spewing off is not a problem, but when politicians and refs see themselves bigger than their sports, someone needs to step in and put them in their place.

Golden State Warriors - I would only believe in global warming if the Warriors ever made the playoffs or hell freezeth over, with hell freezing over having better odds than the Warriors in the playoffs. Maybe Don Nelson, the coach of the Warriors, might soon be named in the same breath as Phil Jackson. Although I still have not seen, and maybe they do not make, Warrior shirts, hats, jacket, underwear, or any thing else Warriors.

Draft Position - Stop the whining from teams who will miss the playoffs because of teams in the playoffs resting their players instead of attempting to win. Winning teams owe nothing to teams attempting to earn a playoff spot, win games and you earn a playoff spot on your own merit instead of needing a corporate handout. Winning teams focus on advancing in the playoffs not the 8th playoff spot or where a bottom feeding team will pick in the lottery.

Women NCAA - The NHL could only wish for such attention as the Rutgers women received. Just as Tanya and Nancy put figure skating on the map, Imus has done women's basketball a favor. For those who do not know, the NHL has ended their strike. Next year will be the highest rating for ladies basketball, thank you Imus, one more charitable act.

Denver Nuggets - Whether or not the Nuggets reach the second round of the playoffs, combining AI and Carmello have been the greatest combo since peanut butter and jelly, popcorn and butter. The Nuggets have the easiest path to round 2, after that, they become feed for the stronger. The great part of Denver trading for AI has been the fact the East continues to receive WNBA basketball at a NBA ticket price.

Warriors - Expect head coaches heads to roll. If the Warriors can make the playoffs with no legit NBA players, imagine how upset owners and GM's of teams with players have to be knowing they have a better team and failed to reach the playoffs. The Warriors dumped trash for trash with the Pacers, but somehow the Pacers trash failed to stink as much. Once again the West became a better conference at the expense of the East.

NY Knicks - Give Isaiah a long term contract and the Knicks end up celebrating another stinker of a season. Now the rumor has it Jerry West will be the Knicks next GM, the first thing West would demand to be GM would be to replace Isaiah. 33 - 49 win loss record normally would not represent a successful season, and still 33-49 does not represent a successful season.
