How far can Bill Belichick go without consequences?

We like to reward winners. Throughout history we look past the things people do in order to win. But really how far can one person go before there are consequences for their actions.

Al Davis told reporters Tuesday that the Patriots had a private workout with Moss before the trade, and that "they tampered with him," although the Raiders never filed tampering charges. Belichick is denying the claim, but remember it was the Boston Globe that reported that Moss ran a 4.29 40 in a pre trade workout.

Listen, we all know that Al Davis is senile. However, we also know that Belichick is a cheater who will do anything to win. So we can't really pass judgment here, but we can say that usually where there is smoke, there is fire.

Also, there can be no presumption of innocence for Belichick.

Everyone thinks that the only cheating was the taping from the Patriots, but not so fast. Besides stealing the other teams’ signs, the Patriots were involved in something much more sinister. It involves screwing with the communications between the opposing teams’ coaches in the box and the sidelines. All it takes is one or two plays to hamstring a drive.

In the past, Rod Marinelli, Marvin Lewis and Jack Del Rio have all said they had communication problems while at Foxboro and last year both the Browns and the Redskins had the same issue. And this is happening at the NEW Foxboro. Does any true, fair-minded person really believe this is just a coincidence?

"Spygate" will live forever. No matter what the Pats do in the future, it will always be questioned and this is just a reflection of that. Antime the Patriots are brought up as long as Belechick is around, cheating is the first thing that comes to mind. Is that fair? No, probably not, but it is the way of life and what Patriots fans are going to have to live with for the foreseeable future.

The only way the league is going to remain on top is to suspend Belichick for at least 4 games the next time he is caught in even the most minor infraction. This has to happen in order to get his attention, the league’s attention and in order to make sure the Patriots plays by the same rules as everybody else.

Not only that, but you can't go around suspending players for infractions and allow coaches to do whatever they want. The League will lose all credibility if this keeps up.
